How to Enjoy a Slow Season Season Day in Whistler Like the Locals

Hello Blackcombpeaks friends! Wondering about what you can do in Whistler on a “mixed bag weather” day? The off-season in Whistler is a special time, because the village is quiet, the pace is a bit slower, and we get to enjoy different activities when the mountain is open quite yet.

Here is a tip for anyone who loves Whistler and simply wants to enjoy a November day…

BREAKFAST!

Yes you got it – breakfast is a wonderful habit and those who practice it know what a difference it can make to the quality of your life. If you're looking to start your day in Whistler with a hearty breakfast, we recommend Hunter Gather, offering hearty, locally sourced dishes like breakfast sandwiches and artisan pastries, perfect for fueling up before a day of adventure, or a quiet November morning. Open every day at 9am, you can enjoy a great morning meal, or stop in for a beer and "pub grub" in the afternoon or evening.

NAIRN FALLS TRIP

Visiting the Nairn Falls (in Pemberton, just outside Whistler) is a “must see” waterfall, offering a soothing “balsam” for your ears, eyes and lungs. Walking the 2.4 km (roundtrip) trail is especially wonderful in November because of the gorgeous tree colors and the generally quiet time between the two peak seasons.

You don’t have to be a "hiking pro" to do it, just a nature enthusiast who enjoys the fresh air and the magic of November weather in BC. The drive is only 20-30 minutes north of Whistler and your vehicle can be safely parked at the large parking lot.

As you start to walk the trail alongside the Green river, you are making your way towards a series of 10 to 20 metre falls, located at an area that over one hundred and fifty million years ago was near the shore of a vast ocean!!! To learn the full story is much more powerful as you stand in the middle of it all and just keep wowing at what you see and learn.

When you are ready to go back to Whistler, your evening activity is something to look forward to.

SCANDINAVE SPA

Th popular Scandinave Spa Whistler is one of those places that local folks love to enjoy in fall especially. Why? Well, because we like to wait for the "slow season" specials, as we like to spend our money wisely.

What really makes this spa stand out from the rest is their location – it is nestled in the middle of the East Side Forest, which gives it a really mysterious and calming feel. Its lovely collection of hot baths, the wood burning Finnish Sauna, eucalyptus steam room, and a waterfall massage is what you can enjoy during their long hours of operation.

And because you will get back to Whistler from your Nairn Falls Trip before dark, you will multiply your experience by watching the sunset and enjoying the comfort of the evening veil surrounding you all around.
